Meet the Zisters | Week 5

Elizabeth Heffron

Hey y’all, my name is Elizabeth and I am a rising senior here at USC! I am majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in Psychology, and I plan on attending law school in the near future. Deciding to attend USC was by far the best decision ever, as I have thoroughly loved my experience here.

Going through the recruitment process is a different experience for everyone, but my best advice would be to relax, get excited, and be your true self. It can definitely be a nerve racking experience at first, but just know that everyone is so welcoming and excited to meet you! I decided to go ZTA because I felt as though I connected with the girls I talked to, and they really made me feel a part of the sisterhood. I was very excited to join ZTA and to be able to call those funny, smart, and amazing girls my sisters!

Getting involved is the best thing you can do when you join a sorority; not only will you meet more of your sisters that way, but you also might discover what you’re passionate about. Throughout my years as a member of ZTA, I have been on the Think Pink Committee, attended functions, sisterhood and philanthropy events, got involved with Dance Marathon, attended our bible study, study nights at the house, and much more. These experiences made my time in ZTA feel fulfilling, and I met so many more of my sisters and closest friends this way. Don’t be afraid to try new things and go out of your comfort zone! These random experiences will end up becoming some of your most cherished memories in Zeta.

It’s crazy to think that I’m already a senior and that this will be my last year at USC and in ZTA. Time really flies by, so live in the moment and make the most of it! I plan to make the most of it, in light of the situation, and cherish these last moments and be as involved as I can be. I’m so thankful for ZTA for bringing me amazing lifelong friends and the best “fam” I could ask for. I am so excited for what this upcoming year brings, and will hold onto the memories of being in ZTA forever.
